Frequently asked questions

How do I register for a course?
Check the course calendar, send the registration form, and pay the $850 deposit to hold your seat. We confirm within one business day with your course pack, prerequisites, and balance details.
How does the deposit work?
The $850 deposit holds your seat and is credited in full toward your course fee. The balance, plus applicable taxes, is invoiced before your course start date. Deposits are non-refundable.
What does rope access certification cost?
Single certification (IRATA or SPRAT) is $2,000 + HST. Dual certification (IRATA + SPRAT in one program) is $2,350 + HST. Rescue, safety, and corporate programs are scoped per cohort.
IRATA or SPRAT: which should I take?
IRATA is the most widely recognized standard internationally; SPRAT is common across North America. Many technicians take the dual program to work under both schemes. If you are unsure, tell us where you want to work and we will advise.
What happens at the assessment?
Every rope access course ends with an independent assessment by an IRATA Assessor or SPRAT Evaluator. Pass and you leave with a digital record of attainment while your certification is processed, after which you are eligible for work.
What if I do not pass?
You will receive a recommendation for additional training and we will work with you to schedule reassessment as soon as practical. Talk to us and we will map the fastest route back to the assessment.
Do I need to register with IRATA before the course?
Yes, IRATA candidates register on the IRATA TechConnect portal before the course starts. Your confirmation pack walks you through it.
I am upgrading to Level 2 or 3. What do you need from me?
Proof of experience. Send photos of the last two pages of your logbook to info@tascforce.ca when you register. Technicians with missing or incomplete logbooks cannot be assessed.
What are the age and fitness requirements?
Candidates must be at least 18, hold valid photo ID, and be physically and mentally fit for sustained work at height. Training days are full and physical. If you have a medical condition, see a doctor before registering.
What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. All technical equipment is provided, including helmets. You receive a training manual on day one, and there is theory homework most evenings.
Where do courses run?
Sarnia, Ontario. Exact venue details and directions come with your confirmation pack. Corporate and team programs can be delivered on your site.
The dates do not work for me. Can you add more?
Often, yes. Cohorts are added as demand fills. Message us with the course and your rough timing and we will do our best to accommodate.
